Term IV Capstone
Course Description:
The MIST capstone process includes research, planning, development, evaluation and presentation of a substantial project related to instructional science and technology. The topics of the Capstones are based upon individual students’ passion, expertise, educational goals and career goals. The Capstones also showcase student learning achievements in the MIST program. MIST Capstones cover a wide spectrum of projects: instructional unit creation, learning system development, e-learning plan, performance improvement, case study and empirical research. They all integrate real-world learning and performance issues with advanced information technology, the unique feature of the MIST program. Open to the general public, the capstone presentations are conducted as conference sessions, in which each student presents her or his capstone for 10-15 minutes, and holds a Q&A period afterwards. Students’ final report, thesis and e-portfolios are displayed during the capstone event.

- Culminate learning experience in the program and finish an IST Capstone
- Demonstrate skills of doing analysis, design, development, evaluation, research and presentation of a substantial project or thesis related to instructional science and technology
- Formally and publicly present the results of the project or thesis
- Create a professional e-portfolio and present it to the faculty and class
